Children's toy box

I have been asked to make several children's toy boxes over the years - such a useful piece of furniture in a child's bedroom!

I design and make mine to be multi-functional. So not only is it a toy box it is also a seat (clients often will make/add their own cushions for the seat) with arm rests (which also act as handles to carry and move it around). I also will engrave the child's name into the backrest to make it truly personal.

Inside a lift out drawer is for smaller toys and objects so that they don't get lost in the deepest darkest corners! It sits on runners and can slide side to side to get to other toys below. The solid lid (and seat) is fitted with safety hinges, which means that when you open the lid up it stays to where you open it, until such time as you close it up again. This eliminates the risk of a lid slamming shut on small heads, necks, hands and fingers. Quite essential I think.
